Just a question, that snails shape is unlike any nassarius ive ever seen, are you sure its not a whelk by mistake? Ive got tons of nassarius and their eggs are nothing like that.

This is what mine look like while laying

@Rick's Reviews have you seen empty snail shells, that maybe you thought hermits have killed? I could be totally wrong but I believe that snail is a whelk, sort of a species like a cone snail. Predatory to other snails, similar to a bumblebee snail just larger and a bigger appetite.

Only reason I say nassarius as this is only snail I have added, someone said possible dove snail before, can you identify in these pics, they have different shell patterns, some covered in algae thanks

Did you buy them all at once? It looks like you have a mixed lot to be honest. You definitely have some nassarius mixed in there. For sure some dove snails. The eggs you mentioned are 100% dove snail eggs. They are commonly mixed up especially at LFS. Doves wont harm anything and eat detritus and algae as well.

In the video you sent, the last one, that is 100% a nassarius, see the "tail" kinda has two horns on it. The ones on the rocks are dove snails. Nassarius very very rarely leave the sand bed, with one exception being going on your tank glass.

Almost all the pictures and videos of them on your rocks are dove snails.

Thank you for confirming, yes I added cuc in September/October with 5 nassarius, over last few months I have had these middle sized (7) and smaller ones appear (5), so I just automatically assumed... Do they lay pink eggs lol or just a wierd occurrence, they deffenitly lay loads

Im not sure about the pink eggs lol, but could just be tinted film on the egg shells. But cool none the less. More of a weird occurrence, usually they are white.
