Hi all! I got this very pink soft coral which looks a lot like sinularia sp but is so pink! and seems to be photosynthetic. Could any help me id this? many thanks!

Hello again! Just wondering if anybody is kind enough to respond and give some pointers regarding care...currently under Gen 1 Radion. Seems to do good but anything I should be aware off? Sumpless 35 g with Tunze 9004 and GAC and Rowa in inside corner filter. Apps 3,5 g water change twice weekly....

Looks like a scleronepthya/ pink cauliflower coral....unfortunately they are not photosynthetic... And will require regular feeding. Gl.

Hello reef lover! thanks a ton...so are we talking phytoplankton or zooplankton or gonipora powder will food suffice?
Kudos to R2R for fostering this brethren of reef enthusiasts....

I'm not sure of the types of food they would like but I do know they have to be fed several times daily to survive and most perish within a year. Its hard to sustain water quality and feed heavily enough for them to thrive.

Idk looks more like colt coral to me but polyps kinda sucked in. Try googling that and see what looks closer to what you have. Good luck

Thanks so much everybody for sharing your knowledge! I think @cloak is bang on...this is a dyed Sinularia. It does not have the typical sharp tipped polyps of an NPS but more like a typical softie. And the LFS had this one and some few more of the same next to yellow ones exactly as imaged in the WWM website! another give away was the very low price compared to std NPS (at least in Denmark). However my LFS is a very ethical guy and he said this is the first time for him for a softie of such shade and was not sure if it was an NPS or not...and to be honest such pink does look so artificial in the tank. Not sure what possessed me to get one...but it is in and I will try to take care as best and suggested as possible!

If he is ethical you should return it and tell him to not buy those again. Good luck.

Hi Joshky, I have returned a few fishes over the years but not sure if takes corals back. And even if I send it back chances are someone else will buy it...will try to persuade him for sure to stop buying these. In fact the article by @cloak might come very handy ! thanks again mate...
