I've got a small pink stylo frag that I added to my tank a month or so ago. Placement is in top 1/3 of tank at present under a Maxpect Ethereal running at around 80% power. One side of the frag is getting more light and flow than the other. The lower light/flow side has great polyp extension and color, the higher light/flow side has lower polyp extension and less color, but still looks OK. I'm starting to get a little bit of vertical growth as well as some encrusting on the lower light/flow side, no encrusting on the high light/flow side yet.

I'm sort of assuming that if I move to a location a little bit lower and protected that the whole coral may take on the look of the "better looking" side now. But before moving I wanted to get some thoughts- I don't want to rush anything. Is this the right approach or should I leave it be to let it continue to adjust and see how it plays out a while longer?

As long as it isn't dying I'd suggest leaving the coral where it is.

I moved my Pink Stylo to the side and lower down and I lost the pink color.

I would leave it in the upper part of your tank. They do like a good amount f light and med flow. The brightest parts of my ReefGen Milka look best at the top with @300 par and med-high flow.

I would keep it up higher or you will probably loose the pink... maybe back the flow off just a little and observe... I say leave it where it is
