Pink suction spots on glass?

I have these small pink spots on the glass of my tank.. they look almost like starfishes but circular?

Are they alive? If they aren't and are completely flat I would maybe guess coraline?
 
Coralline algae is a good algae. It is very pretty, hardy and comes in various colors. The only down side would be that it depletes your calcium level so you need to add it and test for calcium. A Kalkwasser or two part dosing is ideal.
 
No, usually coraline is a sign of a healthy tank. I had a TON on the glass everywhere and on the back wall.
 
The only real downside is that you need to scrape it off your glass since you can't see through it. But as long as you are regularly cleaning your glass, it never really becomes a problem.
 
Some people love it some hate it. I love it it can come in any different colors as well. But it's like the glue of the ocean. It holds rocks together itll fight off the undesirable algae from taking hold. But if it gets to far outta hand itll plug up pumps and cover up glass panels.
