Pinkish slim in the sump

What is this?
NO3<0.25
PO4:0.04
Its thriving just in the sump without light.
Can’t see in my DT.
Any idea?

I would say it is just harmless bacteria. When I was heavily dosing vinegar, I had a lot of pink snot in high flow areas.

Its annoying. clog filter, Trident, etc...
 
It comes with the territory. Higher flow will get it moving along. You can try adding something like seachem pristine or dr. Tim’s waste away. They’re additional bacteria that break down detritus and what not. I’ve used pristine before and noticed my mechanical filtration was taking longer to get gunked up.

You could try to siphon it all out with a water change. If your not dosing carbon, it shouldnt come back I would think?
I siphoned almost all of them. But it seems still growing.
I wondering if I should add some chemicals or wait.
