Ok so i have a trigger systems 26 sump and have been using filter floss from the beginning instead of filter socks. My issue is im having to replace the filter floss basically daily. It stops flowing enough water that it will overflow out of the emergency slot. On my old aio tank the floss would last 4-5 days before needing to be changed. Am i doing something wrong?

The pink filter floss is the worst IMO, I use some green backed stuff from amazon works great(3-5 days between replacement). Also you have pink side up, usually the colored side is the finer side of the floss so the white side should be up so as to catch bigger particles that may clog the colored side prematurely.

I use the pinky one. You should have the white side up. The pink side is for fine sediment.

I replace mine every 3 days when I ran it flat like that. Then I switched to filter cups and put it in there and now replace them once a week.

As @GraniteReefer said, you have the filter backwards. The white side goes on top. I use the same pink filter on my filter cup and is working just fine. I change it every 3 days.

Thanks for the heads up on the color side needing to go down. Im gonna try the blue or green stuff after this roll is done because changing once a day is crazy.

I thought about using a filter cup but my sump didnt come with the acrylic insert to hold a filter sock or cup.

I am going to be switching away from filter socks, but rather expensive to retro my sump about $400, with acrylic inserts, wondering if it worth it? Less hassle with having to clean socks, can just throw out the poly, but wondering if you are all happy that have switched away from socks?

i switched from socks to filter pad material. I buy a 12 foot roll of amazon and it made like 60+ pieces to stick in my trigger where the socks used to go. I cut it 1/2” shorter so water runs off the end if by chance the filter pad clogs before I change it. the filter pad I use I have to change every 5-6 days
