Pinoy reefer

Im from cavite philippines. Yup very happy with the IM40 except for the stock pump they provided. Ended up upgrading to eheim+2000 for better circulation

We used to go there alot in Cavite- Imus back in the day.
We moved here in CA but we still have a place in Las Pinas.
Nice to see a Pinoy here.

Hi guys. I was looking into getting a small sized rbta. I really havent had any experience with them. Will it kill my corals if it walks around my tank? I mean if i were away for a week. And it suddenly decided to walk.

Wow $3? My wife is from Davao. are there any rules against shipping corals?

There're none. You can actually check it in. The problem might be in your country's immigration. Some doesnt allow bringing of corals. You can specify that it is for quarium use tho

If I am correct it's illegal to ship corals from the philippines. Google it .
Well that's if you got them directly from the ocean. But if you purchased it thru'lfs and have receipts then you are good to go. Actually most of the corals sold in the u.s. came from the philippines.

Uhm, not that simple. You need a permit from BFAR (Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources). Exporters have guidelines too so not just any LFS can export corals. It really is illegal to get and sell corals here, but enforcement is another story.

Also, hello fellow pinoy reefer. :)

Hmm i didn't knkw that. I know a lot of retailer who sells fancy clown and some rare coral. He buy them in singapore he simple put them im styro boxes and check them in. Also, when i went to japan, (i haven't set up my tank yet then) they told me i can bring corals home no need for papers or anything. Maybe from ph-us its a different story. But no doubt they haul picasssos and snow flake from sg to ph with that method.

All I know is my coworker found what he said was a dead coral on the sand in Mexico and immigration was very upset saying this is a "huge offense." But on the other side the LFS said he just ordered a bunch of corals from Thailand so..
