He is trying to sell the probe, not start a conversation about how or where you use a ph probe.

It's a controller too...which means that testing is really only half the function of this particular item, probably not even that. Its main purpose is so you can monitor and control the pH of your effluent coming from your calcium reactor. I doubt if you'd want to be running it to school 19 times a day to get your reactor dialed in
