So, lfs had this fish for one week, said it was eating well. I brought it home July 31. It is the only fish in a 10 gallon QT with sponge filter and beach sand. Fish ate right off the bat and continued eating well. Yesterday it is in hiding and did not eat when offered food. Did a large water change wondering if filter was not keeping up, but really don't think that is the issue. Same thing today; hiding and not eating. Started treatment with General Cure just now (August 22). Will do second dose in 48 hours. I do not see any external signs of trouble. Any words of wisdom?

Have you treated for internal parasites? Or for external parasites?

Wrasse are nutorious for internal parasites. Have you seen any white stringy poop?

Also you will want to wait 5-7 days before second dose of GC.

No prior treatments for anything. No white stringy poop. Had been regular in past. Good to know length between treatments. Fish looks to be in good condition and should be OK for a few days of not feeding. Maybe I need to change food. This fish (and all the fish in DT) mostly eat sliced up krill. I have some other things I can offer, but this was its preferred food since I got it.

Yeah you should try things like mysis, clam bits or frozen clams on a half.

I use a mixture of frozen, many things. LRS is expensive but it's sure to like something in that mix.

Do you have an ammonia alert badge by seachem?

Where did you get the fish?

Fish was local; 30 minute ride home. I do not have an alert badge but did about 85% water change one day ago just to rule that out. I use natural sea water. I do have an old API ammonia test, but not sure how accurate that would be. Never had issues with ammonia with a single fish in this QT set up in the past. Hoping this is just a bump in the road.
