Pipe organ coral with sweeping tentacles??

I just purchased a pipe organ and I noticed that in a few of the "organs" sweeping tentacles about 2 inches long come out frequently. Is this something I should be worried about?

Could be a problem because pipe organ corals dont have sweeper tentacles.

I’m gonna guess you got yourself a new galaxea coral and not a pipe organ but I could be wrong

If it is a pipe organ than maybe a spiprbid worm living in there.

I'll try to catch it in action and post a pic when I get home from work. Definitely not spirorbid. I guess it's possible it could be a galaxea but it was advertised as a pipe organ so who knows but I'll get a pic up to be more through. I just hope it won't hurt anything as I'm thinking it may be some sort of bad hitchhiker

Pipe organ or nah? It appears that the tentacle are pulling sand in towards the base of the skeleton intentionally..

I can't see in the picture, but the behavior suggests there is a Chaetopterid worm in your Tubipora.

Yup! Just did a little research and cheatopterid worms are exactly what they are. I was beginning to worry but apparently these guys won't harm anything. Thanks alot for the help

Looks like gsp to me. Pipe organ polyps to me look more fragile and white. Also the frag is more waxy in appearance.

It' a deep water variety...bright green...I have the same.

Yes pipe organ has a deep red skeleton and not a waxy mat like gsp does.

Yeah it's a pipe organ. The best way I could tell was because of purple looking skeleton

Sure looks like GSP to me but that could just be because I’m used to my pink and purple pipe organ corals with short tentacles. Looks good whatever it is and I learned something new about another worm lol
