Hello

I am setting up a new tank and am putting the tank upstairs and the sump down stairs. The thing is I am going to lift the floor to run the pipes upstairs, so once done cannot be done again. The question is what size pipes should I run and how many do I just need a flow and return. I am also having trouble finding information on which pump to use. So a few pump options would be nice the tank is going to be around 500 litres.

1" drain lines, and 3/4" return lines.
Need a head loss numbers from you to get you a pump. How far away is the sump from the tank?

Hello

From the floor were the sump is going to be to the top of the tank is going to be 5 metres or 16.4 ft
And it is 3m across from were the sump is. Or 9.84 ft
The pipes will first go up 2.6m then across 3m then up another 1.65m to the top of the tank.

Hope this is the information you need and thanks for the help so far

With these pumps the max flow rate is large 4300 Gph. Will this turn the water over in the tank to quickly or can they be adjusted to the flow rate suitable for the size of my tank.

Agreed. With your head loss, that output from the return is going to be much much less.
