So here is what happened. I feed sparingly but am increasing the feedings. I target feed my YWG and Pistol. They are!

I was ready to stop him. Two of my dwarf blue legs decided they smell good food. So they went to the burrow. Don’t mind the sand mess. I’m still working on it. Anyways pistol shrimp dragged two of them in. One by one over 10 minutes and he did eat today. I heard the pops on the first one. I’m like yup probably gone.

I know this is a difficult one to ask? Maybe that pistol wasn’t being fed enough. He has been nice then again maybe they come out alive. Time will tell. Usually he pushes them away. Not today. Maybe me feeding triggered it. What do you guys think?

I hear snaps/pops on a daily basis; I think my Tiger Pistol is eating well. Had to refresh my cleanup crew. lol.

I've never seen my Tiger or Yellow Watchman actually pull anything into the burrow, but I have seen a couple snails/hermits checking out the hole (probably to their demise).

Well if you get a chance to see it. Lol it happens like it’s nothing for that pistol. Hahaha

Yep my tiger pistol shrimp had a mountain of skulls(snail shells) stacked up at the back entrance to his den.

Never noticed my pistol shrimps killing my snails. They will take anything they can grab and move it to their entrance and use it to build with.

I'm pretty sure the pops I hear are from killing pods.

Even while I had a much bigger pistol shrimp it did not kill my snails.

Good news!!!! My Blue Leg Dwarf Hermits are alive!!!!! The pistol didn’t kill them. They either escaped or he was just messing with them.

I hear mine popping on a nightly basis. I had assumed he was eating pods?

I have never seen it take in a snail or hermit, and have never seen any dead ones that couldn't be explained on other reasons.

I also hear mine snap most nights. I like think he contribute to the bristle worm explosion by cutting them in half. All crabs he pulls in end up crawling out later. The only think I almost certain he went on a rampage was a small peppermint shrimp. The first night I saw him approach the cave only to hear 5 consecutive snaps later that night. I hear one or twice consecutive most night but that night I knew something more sinister happened.

I just fed the ***hole today hahaha. He was snapping at my gobies tail. So much fun to watch. I’m gonna make sure their both fed well. To be safe. I doubt that pistol will bother the hermits as long as he eats. He gets hungry he’s might go on a rampage lol.

Honestly I wish I saw them more often. Their so cool to watch and see how they tell each other what’s going on etc.

Some people think boring they hide. Etc. I think the whole relationship between the two species is amazing to see.

I threw some empty shells around their burrow and he takes them in. Must have a pretty good maze under the rocks. My Goby gets in the water column most mornings and fights off his reflection on the glass.
