Added to healthy nanotank on Tuesday, saw the shrimp digging first day and the YWG eating that same day, have not seen either since. Just cleaned and checked all filters and skimmers, nothing. Should I worry or no big deal?

Yeah, I have been reading that but still got me nervous! Lol

I'm sure they are decorating their new home under your rock.

Agreed didn' see mine for a week after they found each other (introduced at different times)
Then didnt see the shrimp for 3 weeks, i thought it had died. I only have a 24x18 tank so not loads of room to hide. I then heard the click, and
I only see the shrimp maybe once every 4 or 5 days.

Still no sign and I don't hear anything. I find it hard to believe they both would have died! But short of taking my tank apart, I guess I have to assume the worst.

Would the ammonia or other parameters spike if I had things in the tank? Because everything is unchanged.

I got a YWG and a tiger pistol shrimp about a year ago. After I put them in my 54 bow gallon, I did not see them for almost a week. Occasionally, I would hear the clicking every few days but was still nervous because I did not see them and also they were fairly small compared to my other fish. Now, they have almost doubled in size and I often see the YWG bouncing around the sand, pecking, staying fairly close to the shrimp and I see the shrimp bulldozing sand. I know it can be difficult, but hang in there. They are probably hiding until they get a bit more comfortable.

They are in there. I have had fish disappear for at least 3 weeks and then just show up.
Cheers! Mark

Saw my pistol shrimp tonight!!! Still no sign of my YWG but now I have hope! Of course, I had already written them off so I added 2 peppermint shrimp so they may end up as dinner.

I wouldn't worry about them too much. They both can go into hiding inside their caves for many days. The YWG is generally very social in my tank and is out everyday with his head peeking outside his cave. The pistol shrimp is generally inside his cave most of the time or darts out every once in a while to construct his burrow. I like to blow some mysis into their cave so they get stuff to eat. They are really great personality wise in my tank, you will love them! My Pistol Shrimp is very friendly with my fire shrimp so you should be good in that department.

Oh gosh! I heard my pistol shrimp tonight! Too cool! He missed the target twice but it was very cool! My husband was in the other room and heard it and came running! He couldn’t believe it was that loud!! But I think the sexy shrimp I added may be extinct soon if he improves his aim.

Have not seen the watchman yet. Hoping he is still alive somewhere. If I don’t see him soon, I will get another.

My pistol shrimp ate well last night! Only 1 sexy shrimp left! That was not my intention but at least they did not just die. Circle of life and all that.
