Probably a hitchhiker like a stone crab.
Regardless of species, crabs aren't capable of cruelty- they don't understand what they're doing. Given the increasing evidence that crustaceans are capable of feeling pain, I think "kill pests humanely" is a very reasonable thing to say that people should do. It's also reasonable to get upset about someone killing an animal in an inhumane way, even if that animal is a pest. It's not the crab's fault you put it in your reef tank and then got mad when it did what it's supposed to do.
