I'm wondering if the hole my pistol shrimp made was blocked (perhaps by him?) will he and the goby be able to dig and get out somewhere else?
I know it's probably fine, but they're new (as am I) and I am worried because I haven't seen them all day and there's a small rock or something wedged in the opening to their home.

My pistol shrimp and Gobi often do that. It usually means that they are moving their entrance to some other part of your aquarium.

lol, happens all the time. I have a group of two Hi Fin Gobies and two Tiger Pistol Shrimp that frequently change which rock that want to live under. Also an Oranged Spotted Goby and his Tiger Pistol Shrimp pal do the same thing.

Also, the shrimp probably dragged that rock and lodged it at the entrance himself. They like to do that. :)

I did read that before, but they are both VERY small and I got nervous because for some odd reason there were 3 hermit crabs (also very small) that looked like they were trying to "break in" LOL. My first thought was that the goby/shrimp were dead and the crabs smelled food.
I'll be much happier when I see them again!
