I recently added a candy cane pistol shrimp to my nuvo 10 and today noticed that my skunk cleaner has disappeared. There are no fish in the tank and no other inverts that could have killed him. Could the pistol have killed the cleaner shrimp? How can I help ensure he doesn’t kill fish once I had them to the tank? The pistol shrimp was very small when I first bought him but has significantly increased in size in the last 3 weeks. I wonder if I haven’t been feeding enough (I’m feeding sparingly while the tank is fallow for ich).

I also have a Cleaner shrimp with pistol shrimp and watchman Goby pair that stick together, pistol is very territorial...if anything comes near him he will defend his area.
My cleaner stays away from him.

Ok Thank you. I hope he doesn’t attack fish...

He can and will if he feels threatened in a small aquarium...they like to tunnel under all rock across the entire bottoms of the tank and claim everything they can LOL

I hate to reply to this because I don’t want to jinx myself hahah but I’ve had a cleaner and pistol together for over a year now without problems.

This has me thinking now though...I kept losing peppermint shrimp and blaming it on my cleaner. Wondering if my pistol had something to do with it now!

Never saw a video of them snapping their claws like that. Pretty insane!
