Pistol shrimp molted, now goby and shrimp are missing

I haven't seen my goby or shrimp since Saturday. Both were out and eating on Saturday. Last night (Monday) I noticed what looked like a skeleton in one of the cave openings (there are like 4). I thought either he molted or he is dead. This morning, I was looking into one of the holes and I saw the shrimp, he quickly moved when he saw the light.

So I am happy that he is still alive, but where is the goby? Does he stay in the cave until the shrimp is healed? He did eat a bunch on Saturday so he might not be hungry.

What type of goby/ shrimp pair? I thought mine were dead multiple times when I didn't see them for days or weeks. They eventually pop out to eat again.

Blue spotted goby and striped pistol shrimp. I'm not sure, I bought them from someone local

Just curious, when your shrimp molted, how long does that process take? I have what I believe is a pistol shrimp in my tank that I have yet to see, his snapping went away for about 3 straight days, then its back now. Also, I would love to pair him up with a blue spotted goby (my LFS has one) if that would help him come out.

I saw him poking out of the back of the cave yesterday. That was the first time I saw him since Saturday, but he wasn't OUT. My wife saw the goby out this morning.

I'll let you know if I see something different. I would imagine that the goby would make it more bold. It would have "protection." Not that a goby is that menacing, lol

Thanks, I was incorrect, it was a blue spotted jaw fish my LFS has. Pretty cool fish, but not sure how he would do if there is a pistol shrimp in my tank.

I saw them both today. It think it is fascinating that the goby stayed in the burrow while the shrimp was healing.

The animal world amazes me.

My YWG was out of the DT for over 4 months (for medical treatment) & his shrimp buddy closed up all his cave entrances & did not venture out once in all that time. After the goby was returned to the DT, they reunited & they are out and about all the time once again.
