Hello all......I have an advice question about a YWG.... I recently added the yellow goby along with a royal grama they were both added at the same time about 2 weeks ago....The RG quickly claimed a rock structure and keeps like 24/7 guard. Well the YWG claimed a rock with a hole down on the sand of course but in close vicinity to the RG.....several days of mouth open face offs occurred between the two but all seemed well after that. Now the issue has become the CUC.....the snails/hermits have recently cycled their way to the goby, gramma area and the RG is always darting at the snails but that’s it’s business my problem is the snails/crabs have upset the goby and he’s left his hole....he was at the top corner of the tank for sometime yesterday but back on the sand ever since but just up in the front corner sitting there spitting sand at passerby’s.....he’s healthwise fine, eating and looks good just unhappy.... I think he has tried to make his way back to his original hole today but now the beef with grama has started all over. Would there be any benefit of getting a Tiger Pistol for him? Just let nature take it’s course?

I would not get a tiger pistol they can be aggressive instead I would get a candy cane pistol shrimp
Thanks, my LFS currently has some Tiger was reason I mentioned that one......I asked and they said they might have some Randall’s in the next few weeks but no guarantee.....I noticed most of the Online stores are out too. Do you have any knowledge of the green pistol? I’ve seen it’s iffy if they will pair with a goby.....

I've had several tiger pistols over the years and they've never been aggressive.

We have a YWG and it's paired with a tiger pistol shrimp and they've got along GREAT ever since we got them. We've had them about a year and the pistol shrimp will re-arrange the "house" every day. They live under our biggest rock and the shrimp creates a new door every day and the YWG simply changes to guarding the new door. They have paired expertly.
