Place your bets ;) bleached WD

following! I so very badly want it to recover for you. WD is one of my favorite acros. I think with alot of hard work, it can recover. I had a strawberry shortcake acro that I thought FOR SURE was dead. So sure that I broke it off the rock and threw it away. Recently I was looking through my tank and where that acro was I see a little spot of pink. Sure enough the encrusting survived and its growing back. I was blown away at how resilient that coral is. Fingers crossed, good luck!

Thanks just kicking myself for my mistake, teach me to leave reefing for 10 years. I have made so many mistake starting over. Chances are slim, but hopefully it will darken up over the next month or else well lesson learned either way.

I dont like to call them mistakes, I prefer "learning experience" ;)

Sorry to tell you, that bad boy won’t be darkening up anytime soon. It’s 99.8% dead. If you get lucky and it survives you get to regrow it!

There is a fine line between bleaching and going pale. I got stupid (more than once) while ramping UP lighting and lowering nutrient at the same time. You live, they die, you learn.

Most all my SPS frags went pale and a few bleached. Thankfully it was T5 lighting or it would have been worse. It was a frag tank so it was easy to view the frags with a 25X lense that made the odds easier to place.

From your pics tho, I think your WD has better shot than most of the above odds. There is still flesh on the skeleton. I lost about 1 in five frags; but my WD survived!

End of the week update, to me starting to gain some more brown maybe algae though, I did as mentioned see filaments earlier in week.
