Hey everyone, so I bought a new trumpet coral at my LFS this Sunday and was looking for suggestions on placement. I've seen some people say they have theirs low and others have it high. At the moment, mines about 1/3 of the way off the sandbed. But if you look at the pictures, it doesn't look like it's really opening as much as it should during the day. The first two pictures are from today and the last is Sunday after it was in the tank for probably 30-45 minutes.

Mine are in sandbed of 16" tall tank and in the back with low flow. Well, as low as flow can be with 2 gyres. Lol
Frag rack kinda in the way for a good shot.

Lower light and flow is what I'm given to understand for those ...

Love the starry playing "Where's Waldo" . . .

I think the flow should be good. I have two Current Eflux pumps that alternate on a surge setting. I did play with my light settings a bit (Current Orbit Marine LEDs). I set the whites to 65% and the blues to 80%. Hoping that helps a little. Hard to tell since my zoas and daisy polyps are partially opened - can't tell if that's a result of changing the settings on the lights or because there's a hermit crawling across the zoas and the starry blenny keep brushing along the daisies.

I may try moving it in the back just below the slots where the water flows to the filter chambers in the back (Biocube tank).

Roughly 19 hours after changing to 60/85% on white/blue LEDs. I'll have to get a closer pic when I'm home.
