Placement of a coral

Hi everyone just had a quick question on the growth of this coral (don't know the exact name of the coral but I did have someone id it a while back, but my question is how could I get this to encrust the rock it came as a small block way to big to just sit on the rock but it is definitely growing as you can see it creeping the side. thanks in advanced.

Looks like an acan etch or a favia it will just take time maybe a couple months before it hits the rocks.
