I have a 90 gallon saltwater reef and fish tank and need to place a 300 watt aquatop titanium aquarium heater in the squad to control the temp. I've read that placing the heater in sump is recommended but my water level in sump is not deep enough when placed vertically. Advice?

I keep mine in the sump...you don't need too much water, just lay it horizontal. I have a finnex titanium, I lay it horizontal under the trickle part

I'm assuming placing the heater horizontally is out? Does it not fit or is it not submersible?

I had to look for a while to get a heater short enough for my sump but I would recommend getting one that will fit horizontally.

Thanks. I'm going to return and purchase a shorter one to place in sump.
