i thought i saw a thread about placement of zoas in tank . i remember the actual ids then the lighting they thrived in any ideas were this can be found:tongue:

Anywhere! They adjust, thrive, just move them up slowly so you do not burn them

I dont remember seeing one. I just start on the sand bed and slowly move them up
if just zos' most not all like lower light.
most of my palys like higher light.

+1 on that, start low and work them up. but still it depands on the lights and the zoa's. a lot of mine love the light putting them 3 to 4 inches form the surface of the water and they thrive. but that is where i get to the second part, MH can can make some nice zoa dirt ugly or the other way around can make some dirt ungly zoa even more colorful and make them POP.

example:
caribean blue zoa trand to turn more grayish then blue with intense lighting and will turn a nice blue when in low lighting.

so placement isn't about where you want them but where they tell you they might like to be but in most case most zoa love eating up light.
