Placing Waterbox 230.6 on second floor

Hello all.

Here is the situation. I have a new house, built in 2015. It's an average house, not a mobile home or a super expensive thing either.

I want to place a Waterbox 230.6 or similar size at one of the following locations. See the attached images. The placements are across several joists, the details of which are in the images.

Yes, I do intend to eventually get a structural engineer to sign off on it, but is doing something like this normal, or should I stick to something smaller like a 90 or a couple of 45s?

is this a current picture? If so, have the builder reinforce the floor joist with the sign off of the engineer for insurance reasons would be the most economic, and structurally way to go

I see no problem with doing to 230.6 as long as the joists are reinforced and supported properly.

If you mean the photo itself, no. That was when it was being built. It's all finished now. I'm not sure that tearing out the walls and adding anything is something I will be allowed to do. So let's assume I'll have to stick with what we have here.

I would suggest, showing the above picture to a engineer. The engineer would answer all your question in a matter of minutes and the Ms. will give you the green light

Originally actually, yes. I was going to put it out in the middle of the floor, but then there'd be little room between it and the door area, so there would never really be anyone on that side of the tank, so against the wall is better.

Welcome to R2R, Jack! I have a 90 setup in a very similar looking situation to your "Final Backup Plan". It's crossing the floor joists and right next to a load bearing beam. Works great. As always, your mileage can vary. Having a structural engineer take a look at your pics would be a great idea, especially if you live in earthquake country.
