Planet aquarium canopy pictures?

Hey all!

I am in the process of ordering a custom 150g with stand and canopy from planet aquarium. I’ve heard great things but also want to know what I’m getting into regarding the canopy.

I’m looking at an elegance white matching stand and canopy. I have gen 4 Radion xr30s and am planning on adding a few t5s.

Does anyone have pictures and measurements? How does the top hinge/open? Are you happy?

They have different options for opening. Top lift, front lift, roll top and maybe another. Mine is front lift and the tank and stand are the heritage model. I got the standard height stand (32") and the upgraded canopy (12"). The tank is 48"x24"x24" 120 gallon

I have no complaints. It's a rock solid piece of furniture.

Great to know there are options!!! The front lift looks pretty good. You think I can attach my lights to the back end of that so that I’m not lifting the lights up when I pop it open?

Absolutely. It's only about the front 6 to 8 inches of the canopy that lifts back.

Set up looks great! I am ordering the Heritage stand for my existing tank as an upgrade. Is the top of the stand a solid piece of wood or is it just open with a cross brace? Do you think the stand is worth the $800 price tag?? I know it's an old post, so just rolling the dice that you guys are still active.

Still active. Top of stand is solid with just a cutout for the plumbing (location dependent on overflow location). These stands are very solidly constructed. These are not the typical MDF or particle board stands.

Awesome! Thanks for the info! I went a head an ordered one from my LFS. Should be arriving the end of the month for an install the first week of March. Saved on the shipping cost by piggybacking my stand order on an order they had coming in for the store. Took a bit longer to get but saved me a bunch in freight.

I just received my planet aquarium set. Does your canopy when closed have a pretty big gap between the 2 pieces? My does and you can see the light and top of tank

It gaps a little but not bad. How do you like the Instant Reef inserts? Do you have a full tank shot to share?
