I'd like to reintroduce myself before I get into what my tentative plans are. My name is Russell, I live in Paducah, Ky. I've had a 125 G African Cichlid tank in the past, but lost everything when we had a horrible ice storm in 2009 and power was out for over a month in places. I sold everything and haven't had any fish since, and now I'm getting ready to take the plunge into saltwater with the purchase of another 125 G tank.
This forum is amazing, by the way! There are some brilliant people here, and everyone seems to be ready and eager to help. I'd appreciate whatever opinions or advice you can offer, as this is a very fluid plan. I don't anticipate starting to fill up the tank until August or September at the earliest, although I did fill it just to check for leaks the day after I bought it. My planned build is more of an end game one, or toward the end game as I guess tanks are usually evolving and I realize fish that are supposed to go fine together can turn grumpy or a million other factors can happen and it just doesn't work out.
That being said, here's the planned build for a 125G reef tank.

I just bought a 120G tank for a very cheap price (it's old and a bit roughed up but it still held water, no leaks at all) so I'm going to build a sump out of it. That's big time overkill, but it will be in another room from my display tank and it gives me the luxury of a very nice refugium, and plenty of room for all the equipment.
Equipment:
Return Pump - Jebao DCP 8000
Protein Skimmer - Reef Octopus Classic 150
Heater - Two Finnex 300W
RODI - BRS 6 Stage Deluxe Plus 100 gallon per day
Lights - Two Mitras LX 7206 or Radion XR30W G4

Livestock:

2 True Percula Clownfish
Royal Gramma Basslet
Orchid Dottyback
Flame Angelfish
2 Bangaii Cardinal
Yellow Watchman Goby and Randall's shrimp
Lawnmower blenny
Yellow Tang
Tomini Tang
Red Solon Wrasse
Filimented Flasher Wrasse

Sebae Anemone
Kenya Tree Coral
Toadstool Mushroom Leather
Bullseye Rhodactis Mushroom
Knopia Polyp Rock
Chili Coral
Clavularia Glove Polyp

If you have any suggestions, advice, input of any type please let me know. If there's better or alternate equipment I'd be happy to check it out. This is hopefully a good starting point and I can begin to fine tune it before any water hits the tank.

Thanks!

125 gallon display with a 120 gallon sump.......... rock on bro! You should not have any nutrient issues...ever! LOL!

Only thing I would change for your equipment would be your return pump...and that's because I am not a Jebao fan.

I dont have any personal experience with the Vectras but they seem like a great piece of gear! Given the chance,I'd use one!
