Planning 3 Tank Waterfall System

That would be so cool. The only thing I would worry about is salt creep if you let the water just flow between but maybe have simple over flows with clean pvc between them. All located in the back corners.

Very neat concept. The middle tank seems kind of small for the predator portion. Even snowflakes get some size to them.

I just recently saw a video of a bobbit eat a lion fish! They probably shouldn't be in a system linked to sea horses and fish you like. Still gives me horrors!

Was it my video? It hopefully would be a baby bobbit worm if I added one. Middle tank might just end up being a pest tank. See a huge bristle worm? Throw it in there etc.

Have you thought to keep the bullheads all at the same height so you're not introducing so much turbulence to the water or is that what you were looking for?

Looks like your trying for what Petco used to keep its live plants in. It was a solid tank portioned off in 3 sections with unobstructed overflows. I would though recommend grates in between sections to help with section jumpers.

Exactly! I think I remember seeing pictures of that before. Good idea with the grates; will definitely work that in.

Awesome idea! If you haven't checked out Walter Adey's book "Dynamic Aquaria", I would highly recommend checking out a copy for ideas and inspiration. You can get used, older editions for a decent price online. I have a 22 gallon refugium that sits above my DT and gravity drains down into a 33 long display tank which in turn drains down into two (joined) sumps with an ATS. You'll love the diversity of life you can maintain all while running basically one aquarium. Following along!

Cool idea. I'd probably swap the predator section and the reef section. I'm assuming you'll need to feed the predator section pretty heavily, would probably not want that overflowing into the reef section - seems like it would be better to go straight to the sump.

tanks like that get dead zones for water movement, been unsuccessfully tried before
