I have a 10 g tank and Im planing to build a sump. Im going to start buy things one by one, what things do need?
R2R people please post sugestions and Ill star building step by step!
Thanks!!

Is the tank going to be drilled? If your not going to drill you will need an overflow box. Depending on how big the sump is going to be you could set up an auto top of and dosing pump. A filter sock on your return line and maybe a nano skimmer. Maybe put some baffles in and run a light over it for macro algae. Since not a lot of info to go on for whats going to be in your tank and what you want to keep in it.

Ill get a overflox box, I was thinking of a 10 g sump and I want to introduce some lps corals, i have already 1 black ocellaris. Im doing water changes twice a week to have my nitrates below .5 ppm. thats why Im decided to start buiding a sump to help me with the bioload!!

What kind of lighting do you have? I would do a skimmer and maybe a reactor that you could dose kalk and top off water with and maybe a gfo reactor.

Im runing a DM132e fixture from reef radiance, Im new to sw but im trying to read a lot. Thanks for helping out!

No problem. Adding a sump to a 10 gallon DT is a good idea.
The more water you have the better chance you have of keeping water params in order. Browse through the DIY section and check out some other peoples sumps to get an idea of how you want to set yours up

How much room do you have for a sump? Reason I ask is because depending on how much equipment you want in your sump, a 10G sump will be pretty packed. If you can use it size wise, consider a 20L to convert to a sump and put the heater, carbon/gfo bags, skimmer, return pump, macro algae, filter sock in there. Then you only have the overflow box and powerhead in the display and you nearly triple your water volume.

Yeah definitely if you have room for a 20 gallon long sump that should give you plenty of room for everything. like your return pump and skimmer and have room to add reactors later. I would run a filter sock also. read up in the diy section and get some ideas and go from there.
