I've been thinking through a list of fish I'd eventually like to end up with in my 60g cube and thought I'd ask for some feedback about what I have in mind.

The tank has a 2-3" sand bed and I made the scape with CaribeSea Shapes primarily. There is a sump that contains a Bubble Magus 7 (not elite version) in one chamber and a full box of MarinePure spheres in another chamber along with some chaeto and a fuge light that runs opposite the display schedule. The tank is fully cycled and after "stress testing" with some heavy feeding of my 2 clowns it seems that the biological filtration has been able to handle things well. The tank has a very diverse snail & hermit cleanup crew in a range of sizes.

My plan is to have this be a tank of Softies and LPS corals without any true branching SPS but I would like to have some encrusting hard corals like cyphastrea. I would like to add a bubble tip anemone at some point as well.

So with the above in mind, here's what I've been thinking of adding to my existing pair of bonded Ocellaris (a regular and a snowflake) clowns.

1 Yellow watchman goby
1 Purple Pseudochromis
1 Orange Spot Blenny
1 Six Line Wrass
1 Lemonpeel or Coral Beauty Anglefish
3 Green Chromis

When I look at the list I have to admit that question whether it's too many fish in a 24 inch cube. I'd like to have a variety of colors and shapes but obviously don't want to overcrowd or create a situation where there is endless bickering.

I welcome any opinions on the number of fish or whether I've overlooked a compatibility issue that might cause a problem. Also, if there's something interesting that I should consider please feel free to make a suggestion. Thanks.

I have 50g 30x24 lagoon tank.

I have two clowns, a wrasse, and a Midas blenny... and planning to add two more fishes in the future (mandarin and prob another wrasse)

my 2cents:
I tried a lemonpeel angel. But ended up trading it in at the lfs.
He take bites out of the soft corals. He was a bully also. And he looked two big for my 30x24 and therefore, unhappy. Lol.
Ymmv

the six line wrasse is known to be aggressive to new comers.. so prob best to add him last.
FYI there are less aggressive wrasse just as colorful
The McCosker wrasse I have is pretty neat.

good luck

Hi! Lemonpeel isn’t good for a reef tank, terrible coral eaters. Cherub angel or flameback angels get 2 1/2” and are very reef safe.

Chromis are terrible about killing each other, just take my word for it and buy one :)

I’d ditch the blenny/goby and just have one since they both live in the sand bed and this isn’t a very large tank

I only have 3 fish in a 20 gallon but I wouldn’t really push it past 4. For your tank I’d say around 5 fish is good

note: 6 line may be super aggressive or fine. I prefer pink streaked or possum wrasse cause they’re a little more predictable

Good luck with your tank!
