Planning on Dosing KNO3...How much is too much?

For the past few months my NO3 has been between 0-.5, It has mainly been at .25 and I feel this is too low for most of my coral (SPS). Color is good, but growth is pretty slow. I've added a few fish to help with the issue to no success. I have a RSR250 with 6 fish (2 clowns, McKoskers wrasse, orange back fairy wrasse, wheeler's goby, & a midas blenny. I don't want to add more fish since that's quite a bit for that size tank. I also dose 5ml of A & B (10ml total) of Reef Energy, but have noticed more algae growth while using this. However, I have noticed that my coral looks a lot fuller once I've started using this product.

My question is, how much Spectracide should I add to a 1L solution to raise my NO3 up a few points? I'm looking to go no higher than 5ppm. I found this calculator: http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/calculator.htm and it seemed helpful, but I don't want to add too much. How much of an increase is harmful to the tank?

Also, should I be dosing this everyday? I plan on testing everyday or every other day, but once I hit my desired target do I keep dosing or just leave it alone?

Also, I think I'm going to use food grade sodium nitrate. Is there a place for a calculator that I can calculate for dosing?

There is a huge range of what people think are good values for NO3 and PO4. Some believe in thinking is terms of a ratio and even that is highly debatable.

Hey I've experimented with this and I added half a teaspoon of KNO3 until I was able to get a reading. Now I add it to keep it where I want it. It was like my tank was a sponge untill it obsorbed all it needed.
