I am currently just in the planning stages for a 84x24x25 tank........I will be using caribsea rock, but ocean direct sand....I will have a refugium, I will dose tons of bacteria early on from different companies, I will be dosing phyto and pods early on...once my cycle is done, I will only be adding 2 clowns and some chromis........the question I can't seem to find the answer to is bioload of adding my tangs after I'm guessing around 2 months after the clowns and chromis. I will only be buying quarantined fish from either TSM, Dr reef, or Marine Collectors....I don't know where yet because I want to make sure they can get all of my tangs at one time and not over a long period, so time will only tell on that, BUT it will be 9 tangs total, so the question is will my bioload be ok in a tank that large to add 9 tangs at once, or is there something else I should do to increase bacteria before then? Yes I know I could go slower, but I want all of the tangs in at once to spread the aggression and to allow a pecking order to get established while everyone is "new" to their home.

If you add bacteria at the same time you add the fish you shouldn't have any issues after the cycle. Not sure which rock your getting from them but you can also buy a tub right now to put the rock in and start to put bacteria in there with the rock. You can Do false feedings on the tub water and cycle that rock. Is this your first tank? If not you can take a rock or rocks from your existing tank and throw into the tub to seed the lifrock as well. That way when tank comes and you are all setup. The life rock is full of life and bacteria and ready to go. No down time of waiting if you have several months of rock in the tub.

Not my first tank, but will be a new one, I have been out of the hobby for a few years now

Oh ok. Well it sounds like a good project. I would try and get rock ready before you start the build if you have time and space to store it. I did the same with dry rock on restarting my 255. Worked out fine no issues. But rock was in tub for 3 to 4 months getting ready
