I have plenty of time before this happens, but it'll be here before you know it.

What sps corals could I put on the bottom of my tank? It's barebottom, 26" tall, and my T5 (6x80W) is about 11" over the water surface.

Or maybe not just sps corals, ideas/advice for what I can use on the bottom of the tank that would look cool? I was thinking a variety of monticaps, but wasn't sure if they would attach to the glass.

Any encrusting monti will be cool. Also you can keep the deep waters on the lower level as well

I don't know any deep water corals. I was looking at my tank, and a floor consisting of red, green, purple monticaps, all blending together with different levels, would be really cool....it would, however, eliminate me from being able to siphon out detritus, but I guess if it got to that point, the corals would use that for food, in quick manner.

Why does it eliminate you from being able to siphon out the detritus?

if they are growing across the bottom of the glass, wouldn't the detritus settle under them in as the grow and layer?

It will take a while to encrust the bottom of your tank unless it’s the size of a fish bowl.

Just keep your flow up. I have the 8x80w ATI over a 24" tank and still get enough light to grow just about any SPS at the bottom of the tank. Encrusting montis would work better then Caps if you're trying to cover the floor of the tank.

Deepwaters. Hawkins, IceFire echinata. Some dragons would be cool - Red Dragon, Purple Dragon Eyes, etc. Any of the Lopries, Granulosa, Rosaria and Lokani.

I don’t have a clue what you just said...adding to my research!
