Planted reef

Your lighting color requirements are going to differ for macro algae vs corals from my understanding. The mushrooms that I've had in the past weren't super picky about light, but they were definitely healthier under reef lights whereas your macros are going to want more of a grow light spectrum.

I'm not an expert so I definitely would value other people's opinions on this, but just wanted to throw in my opinion.

Macro algae is strange. Some require different spectrums. The best thing to do is figure out which ones you like and find out which spectrum they need. Then figure out where you want them and get the lights you need. Inappropriate Reefer on YouTube has an awesome Macro Mangrove tank.

I am looking at doing a 40b marcoalage reef.

Looking at primarily the ai primes.

Was thinking 2 ai prime reefs and a ai fuge.
Would this be over kill or how would you recommend doing this.

I also plan on keeping one nem and mushrooms in this tank.
Probably don't need the fuge led.
Just as a guess you will just need to keep from being intense blue centric.
May "work" but "look" will probably be sub-par (pun not intended)
Keep around 10000k and no more than 15% of your PAR in red (for the corals) and it should work.

No matter what lights you use a "universal axiom" is some things will live/thrive.. some won't.

Natural light environments..
