Hi everyone, I've had my 52 gallon reef up and running for 3ish years. I recently bought a 1 gallon hang on breeder tank, sectioned into 3 sections and put sand in the bottom. Kurlapa in 1 section, a purple plant in another and an aclameted rock in the third. Then I dumped in a caprisun looking juice box of coppods. The tank came with an air bubble to push water up, but I ordered a small 70 gph pump. My question is I'm getting this green algea. Is it because of all the air? I've attached pics. Thanks for your help/advice

What lighting do oyu have over it? Does water move well throughout those 3 chambes?

I have an led light over it, water only trickles. That's why I ordered a pump, it should be here tomorrow or Wednesday.

I think the pump will help you with that. I think its growing up there because its not moving.

Ok, is it bad? should I skim it off? Do the coppods eat it? Is this a good setup or am I potentially doing damage to my reef? My main goal is to cultivate coppods and grow the 2 algeas that my emerald crabs love. I also read that it acts as a natural filter. The pump I ordered is a 70 gph and I was thinking of splitting it slow water flow a little.

No need to skim it at this point, its eating nutrients out of the water, and its not impeding the light into the sump yet.
