Has anyone used a plastic (Food safe) container as a refugium? I only have room for a five gallon tank (can only be about 16.5 inches long), and have been told they are extremely hard to drill because of the glass thickness. So Was thinking maybe I can find a food grade container that will fit in my cabinet that I can use as my Refugium. Any input?

Thanks!

Rubbermaid bin- not plastic. Many use rubbermaids as a sump successfully

I haven't ever tried this but i don't see why you couldn't. Some water flow and light. My fist sump was a rubbermaid tote/bin but with no algae. I had to keep a lower water level due to the walls bowing but it worked for the two months I needed it to.
