Plastic tote as sump?

Id avoid the clear 'sterlite' (spelling) brand because they eventuallly become brittle

posted from my phone - sorry for any errors

Get the black ones from tsc

+1 the rubbermaid feed troughs are food rated, no hardening rubber versus a plastic that will gets brittle and crack. The rubbermaid feed troughs are also tensile strength rated fornthe weight ofthe water. Great news is they are cheap! A 75 galln tub is about 50 bucks or so. They also often have bulkheads already installed and are deep enough to add a milkcrate to position a skimmer and a smaller container to act as a spillover to vet out airbubbles from your overflow entry.

I have a 150 gallon Rubbermaid tub as my sump.

I've been running the same clear plastic tote on the 190 since I set it up in '99. No problems so far.

What kind you have

I don't remember. Something from Home Depot, Lowe's, WalMart, etc. Nothing real fancy. Just the kind of thing you'd store clothes in to stack in the back of the closet.
