How can you tell if your plate is happy?

It does nothing.... lol

I see it swell up at night or early morning but thats about it.
Whats up with the swelling?
This morning before leaving the house (5:00 am) it was HUGE... and it moved over some and was actually touching a neighboring Metallic brain i have...

Most all lps swell up at night. It is their way of absorbing nutrients from water. Plates also have to ability to use this inflate to move themselves. If it continues to try and move. It does not like its current location. Water flow, lighting or searching for food are a few reasons it doesn't like its spot.

A happy plate description will vary. An unhappy plate is easier to notice. Lack of tentacles all the time. Overly puffed out, deflated so you can see the skeleton ridges, a constant open mouth and receding flesh.
