Plating coraline?

Can anyone ID this stuff for me? It's all over the live rock that is directly exposed to light. Sorry for the poor quality pics.

Nope, It's hard and doesn't scrape off easily.

anyone else ever see this stuff? its kinda cool looking in person. you can kinda see it in the pics, but it grows off the live rock in round shapes.

I believe i've seen other people on this forum or another post about plating coraline algae. I think it looks awesome and gives tanks a unique appearance.

i used to have a freind with te same thing it is plating coraline for sure i tried ti get in to take in one of my tanks but no luck. looks pretty cool anywy

I have it in my tank in spots. It was choking out some zoanthids so I ended up breaking it apart. It's more of a scrolling shape than plating though. Coralline can grow in all sorts of shapes.

I had that type of coralline in my tank years ago and I loved the stuff. Maybe it will show up in my new build.
