Plating coralline ?

Just noticed recently I've had these in my tank. Is it possible to break some off and re-plant it on other parts of my rockwork? It just looks cool but its only growing in this section of my rocks.

As far as i understand yes, for most the plating type is a pain because it soon shadows areas of the tank you may have corals in.

Thank you. Im going to try and plant them in places where im not likely to have corals then. The one i have is growing under a ledge with minimum lights tho.
