I can’t find any info on the nominal growth rate of a Platygyra. I’ve got it close to the bottom of the DT. Current flow in that location is medium to low. What is an optimal growth rate for these.

Hard to quantify with numbers and sizes, but growth rate is similar to favia/favites, if not a bit faster.
If you don’t know how fast those grow, I would say twice as fast as the average chalice coral.

Hum? I don’t have any chalice and only one Favia. In the picture there is a plug of Zoas above the platy that won’t fully open and I think it’s from too much flow in that area. Plus, if I don’t move it now, eventually that green encrusting Monti is going to kill them. I was thinking move them down where the platy is, but I just read platy’s have long stingers. Guess I’ll have to move it to the other side of the tank.

Thanks

The one I have lives well on my sand bed and I have had it for a few years but my chalice grows faster than the platy.

I've never heard of zoas getting too much flow.

To answer the main question it's kind of slow as a grower. It will grow faster if target fed for sure.
