Soooo, I wanna put a sand bed in my fuge. I don't need it to look nice or anything. I'm not exactly excited about the thought of spending $50+ to cover my fuge base in sand because it's going to require a LOT of sand. I was hoping to just go to Loews or Home Depot and buy bags of their play sand or all purpose sand. Can I do that? I know it'll be an ugly color but again, I don't need it to be pretty. Is this okay or would I be doing more damage long run?

Even premium washed, screened sandbox sand is silica / quartz 100% by weight.

Or you could just not put any sand in your fuge. Stick with the live rock and cheato.
I have to put sand in there because my two banded sleeper gobies live in there and they obviously need a sand bed. They trash my display tank when they're in there because they dig obsessively looking for places to lay their eggs. So all my live rock and corals are covered in white sand, which looks awful. I've considered just getting rid of them, but of course I'm a little emotionally attached to them. So they live in the fuge but they're not very happy right now because I don't have sand for them.
