I watched a video from Jake Adams’ Reef Builders channel on YouTube and it made me reconsider the reds of my aquarium. I decided to give myself an hour’s worth of red towards the end of the light schedule and bring my red up to around 40% just to see what it looks like and like he said in the video the change to the coral colors were more or less in the “meh” category, but the fish......
None of these pictures are touched up other than the gel filter on the phone camera. It makes me want to buy an actual camera. The iPhone does not do them justice. The flame angel looks deep electric CRINSOM like I’ve never seen. Everything else looked unnaturally red, but the angel..... I wish the little bugger would’ve cooperated more but I decided to incorporate an enhanced red period during the final minutes of the light cycle just to enjoy the fish more. I forget to give them the love they deserve sometimes just because they’ve always been second fiddle to the coral. Any suggestions on a better way to incorporate red enhancements without an algae invasion?
