I ordered a camera box a couple weeks back from Marc at Melevs reef.

I must say it is built well, I just wish it was a bit bigger so I could focus a little easier.

Here's a few of the ones that turned out OK.

saying those pictures turned out ok is an understatement. Those pics look great, are the eyes on the favia really that intense red?

youll get the hand of it. Its hard to focus, but if the box was bigger, it would also be more buoyant, and harder to keep still.

try and use the edge of the tank to rest on, or at least your arms on. This will help stabilize it.

Actually the eyes are a little brighter in person. It is the most intese colored christmas favia I have ever seen.

Junior- Thanks for the tip. Maybe I'll give that a try when I get home tonight. Should be pretty easy to keep it stable with the vortech out of comision.

I don't think the focusing is off at all. I bet the bluriness is due to a slow shutter speed. Try and bumping up your ISO and opening your aperature (lowering your f-stop) to increase shutter speed.

Looks good in here Morgan .. Practice makes a huge difference so keep snapping and post tons of pics :D

Aperture was wide open. What ISO should I be using?

Put it this way your shutter speed should be at least equal to the length you are shooting at. If you are shooting a 105mm macro, your shutter speed should be at least 1/100 sec.

when i use mine, i am always at ISO 800, Aperture priority, usually around f.8 - f.16

The more practice you get, the more you close down the aperture, and get more DOF.
