Please Critique My Wrasse List!

I'd like to know if my intended wrasse list will be ok and co-exist with each other.

Tank is a 150 (5x2x2) with 40 total gallons in sump (190 gallons total).

Current Wrasse:

Flame Wrasse Trio - Cirrhilabrus jordani

Hopeful for:

Lineatus - Cirrhilabrus lineatus
Golden Rhomboidalis - Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis
Carpenter - Paracheilinus carpenteri
Filamented - Paracheilinus filamentosus
McKoskers - Paracheilinus mccoskeri
Blue Star Leopard - Macropharyngodon bipartitus
8 Line Flasher - Paracheilinus octotaenia

Just a rough start but figure I would check with all you Wrasse Freaks out there...

I might only do one flame as females have a tendency to transition to male.

Rhomboidalis near the begining, 8 line towards the end.

Hmmmm...I already have 3 Flames...still in the acclimation box (just received them yesterday). Even if there is an already established and much larger male will they still transition? I was hoping the females would promote more vibrant colors and more color display.

Yeah, even with an established male females often transition. While they do promote vibrant colors in males other fairy and flasher males will as well.

I would keep an eye on aggression in the flasher wrasse category (Specifically the McCosker and Carpenter). I would have a feeling these 2 would fight. But other than that looks good.

Nice list! Defenitely be careful with the flashers they're pretty aggressive, the one in my tank makes all 6 of fairy wrasses jump lol

Not enough females. Male flashers need five or 6 females as the will pester the females to spawn if there not enough of them. Causing jumping issues.

Actually, most of the pestering is done to keep the females as females. Fairy wrasse gender is determined by social heirarchy. A dominant male 'rules' over a harem of females, and is almost constantly engaged in feats of dominance towards rival males or females within his harem. I

n aquaria, however, there seems to be more distractions and males don't focus enough on the females, though they aren't ignored either, and females begin to transition into males. Now, once there is another male of the same species in the same tank, the territory is not big enough in most cases for the both of them. They will display and nip until there is a clear victor, and the loser will be chased on sight, usually to seek refuge in the rocks and to waste away, as it is not allowed within sight of the dominant male.

Actually, I learned this from Tony Vargas the Wrasse man himself. If you do not have enough females The male will pester the females to spawn again too soon.

While true in the wild, within the limited confines of aquaria, this is simply not the case. Very, very few people actually have wrasses in condition to spawn periodically, let alone multiple spawnings a night.

To successfully and long term to keep a group of conspecifics one would need a tank 1000+gals.

TJ's right on this one; I would have provided a similar response.
Plus finding females for sale which are actually female AND correctly identified on species is nearly a unicorn.

Oh you'll get at least one...

With enough distractions in the tank (which you'll have), I think you'll be okay for the 3 males to coexist. I've done it before with jordani, johnsoni, and nahackyi.

I may also have once gone fishin' with a tiny hook and the barb removed.
