But I'm pretty sure it is. Noticed it this morning when I moved the green stars to a new spot...this side used to be to the back of the tank. If it is, best removal method? It's the only one I see so far ;Bookworm.

Hard to tell, exactly, from the pic but it doesn't look good.

Do you have/can you get a syringe and needle?

Also, if you're pretty sure it's the only one; remove the rock it is on, scrape it off and then put superglue on the rock where you have scraped it. This will get rid of it

It's an easy to remove rock, I didnt want green star taking over the tank so they are on an island lol. I have a syringe and needle in the first aid kit.. I read that people inject them with stuff but any time I've moved this rock I guess it has pulled back under the green star which is super glued down to the rock...

I am pretty new to reefing so take this with grain of salt. I had a few of these and after researching for a week or so looks like AptasiaX is the easiest route for a newbie like me. Bought some at LFS yesterday and killed the 3 I had in tank. I would give it a thumbs up for ease of use and results.

That's definitely an aiptasia. If you can remove the rock from the tank, use tweezer and carefully peel it from the foot. They come off pretty easily. Don't pull it from the crown, it will tear and possibly split and grow multiple baby aiptasias.

Well, since it sounds like scraping it off won't work, you could give a try to injecting it with boiling RODI. You won't have to move/remove the rock going this route. You can just sneak up on it! Like a stealthy cat! ;Cat

Yup, aiptasia. Don't panic.

If you can remove the rock you can burn it off with a lighter (if there isn't anything good nearby). If not you can inject it with kalkwasser paste or pick up some aiptasia X. They are annoying but there are several methods of control. Aiptasia X works really well. I also had great luck with a couple of peppermint shrimp and some berghia nudibranchs.

Thanks guys! Now that I know it is there, I'm about to take the rock out and see how accessible it is... wish me luck lol

Sure looks like aiptasia to me.

I've all but convinced myself that Aiptasia X is nothing more than a slurry of calcium hydroxide in water with a little coloring thrown in to the disguise the formula. I made a calcium hydroxide slurry in water after numerous attempts to use Aiptasia X, and lo an behold, it behaves exactly the same way! :)

Also, be prepared to apply the paste or Aiptasia X more than once as the anemones get knocked down, but they get back up unless you hit them again and again. Just my two cents.

Its definitely aptasia! Aptasia x is my go to!!!

100% on the kalk paste. Encase it with it with flow off for about 15 min. It forms kind of a gel. Kills em and prevents them from spreading. No biggie
