So I am going to be transferring my DT 34g cube to a 60g cube.

My current setup is a 34g cube and about a 25 gallon sump/refugium.

I will be placing the 60g cube on the same stand that the 34g is sitting up which is why I am looking for advice
(I will also be using all the same equipment
This is my plan

I have a 32 gallon trashcan that I have premixed water. I will be heating the water to match what is in the system. I will be making SG and Ph to the best of my ability. I also have 4 5 gallon buckets that will have premixed water so it will be a total of about 45 gallons or so of new water. I will then siphon out water into a 5 gallon bucket to put 4 fish in. All my corals that are not attached to rock will go in the refugium and that will be heated while everything is being moved. The rest of my tank water will go into all my water jugs that I have lying around. I am going to siphon the sand and clean it to the best of my ability. It is about a year old and I clean it and stir it up often.

Now here is where I need some help. Will the live rock with softies, rock anemone, and maxi mini anemone be ok in the new water if its at the same temp? I want to move scoop sand from old tank and place it in new and then add enough water so I can re-aquascape. I will then fill it up all the way with the old and new water. I really would love help on whether or not this is a smart plan. My total volume right now is about 55 gallons and will be bumped up to about 80 or so. So thats really only about 30-40 gallons of new water. Once the 60 is filled I will then turn back on the sump and let the water mix. This whole move should only take about 3 hours total and everything should keep around the same temp. The only issue I see is adding the water to the new tank and it cooling off while I am aquascaping. All advice is welcome. Thanks so much guys

So I have decided to mix the water in my trashcan. I made 15 gallons in the trashcan and 15g gallons in buckets. What I am going to do is remove 15 gallons from the tank and put it in the trashcan to mix the water and add the 15 gallons in the bucket to the tank so that it can mix as well. That way I can even out the parameters.. Good Idea?

if you keep your live rock in water with flow and heat and the right, The bacteria won't die,. Once you stir the sand up and put in new tank it's gonna stir up nitrates and ammonia , since your going half old and half new in the water. And already have it mixed in buckets with movements water should be good too. And since your using the same equipment it all has bacteria in it that's beneficial. get it too temp quick make sure nitrates and ammonia are ok before the switch. And you should be all right. Good luck. And make sure to post pics of the operation

Keep in mind like I said once you stir up the sand your gonna see a spike but it should go quickly try to add some new sand as well.
