Hello

I have a 28 gallon JBJ nano with an LED fixture from reef radiance, an inline JBJ UV (turned on recently) and an aquamaxx HOB skimmer. I cycled tank with two false perp's I had in a little 2 gallon tank for about 2 years, so I had thought they must be pretty hearty. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed my yellow neon goby got ich. It was not bad, but lasted about 1 week or so. I fed my fish garlic extreme, selcon, they regularly eat the Thera + pellet food with garlic, and I was also soaking it in a mixture of a powder from marine depot for diseases mixed with garlic extreme.

The Neon goby's it started to go away but I noticed my clown scratched a little. No visual signs, but the scratching. Then later, I noticed he had developed a few small black dots on his body and around his gills. When I called around, and posted on this forum,, they did not think it was it due to the fact that it was 1) black, and 2) did not appear raised on the surface.

I do have both a golden torch frag and even more recently a neon green frammer frag. The general consensus was that it was a sting from the coral and not to worry about it.

PROBLEM

1) I noticed today that his spots have got worse.... Not bleeding worse or anything like that, there is just a lot more of them. I tried to take a few pics to include. Sorry the pic is not the best, done with my iPhone.

2) Can anyone tell from the description and pics if this is just a coral sting, or if it could be some disease or parasite?

3) Again, a false percula has developed small black spots over his body. I noticed the other clown has just a few himself.

4) If it is a coral sting, is it something I need to worry about, or will they just learn their lesson eventually?

That's one of those Dalmatian Clowns!!! Joking aside, Does your clownfish try to host in any corals? To me it looks like sting marks from a coral.

O and i forgot to mention the stinging will not harm the fish either, nothing to worry about. I had the same issue when my perculas were hanging in a torch coral.

Agreed. My clowns host gbtas and have those. Nothing to worry about.

Those most often come from zoos, harmless your fish is fine, what's a false perp :-D

He's going to die for sure . I've seen it happen before first it's a few spots then the tale starts falling off then the fins then the eyes in a few weeks all you have is a little piece of meat floating around. It's a horrible sight I'm telling you. Haha jk he is fine .

Yeah, if the clown is taking up home in a coral such as torches, hammers or frogspawn they are getting stung. My female clowns mouth was badly swollen for a week or more from a hammer coral she was trying to mouth.

all the above, the clown is fine

My clowns are almost black from their rbta. It's funny if come down stairs in the middle of the night and look at the tank. She will be laying on her side a sleap in the rbta.
