Hi everyone, I'm brand new to reefing and am around a month into my first saltwater aquarium. My tank levels are all stable ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 4 ph 8.1 salinity 35ppt. I purchased my first fish (2 clownfish one premium black snowflake and a black misbar) around a week ago and when I got them home I noticed a very small spot on the one, right where the fin meets the body. Now at first I figured it was just maybe from transport a scale or something but, it has gotten bigger and now I've noticed a very small dot on the other clownfish. Both are eating well and acting normal and were freshwater dipped before going into the tank I dont believe its ick it looks more like Lymphocystis but I'm not sure and am wondering if it's best I return the fish to my local fish store and get something else I've heard Lymphocystis is very contagious and I dont want to give it to more fish any advice?

Can you quarantine? Hard to tell. Need white light picture.

Almost looks like it's around the anus. Seriously.

Hope these help they swim so darn fast lol and yeah I have a quarantine tank but they are also the only inhabitants in the tank right now

I don't see Brooklynella, ich or velvet, but could be internal parasites as it looks to be the area around the anus.

If both are eating, I'd try some frozen food soaked in API General Cure with seachem's focus. Spot feed them. Treatment for ten days.

Okay thanks alot, yeah it doesn't look like anything I've seen before. I just want to make sure it wont cause any risk to the tank in the future, I really love saltwater and have always wanted to do it. Just trying to take things slow and get it right the first time.

Sure, no worries. as for Lympho, normally it attaches on fins and body as a white "tuff" or mass. I don't see that on them. I have seen tissue irritation and necrosis around the anus before with internals before that look similar to your clowns.

Okay I'll definitely start treating them tomorrow, I'll let you know what happens in the next few weeks
