Please help!!Brown color build up on sand

Dont know what it is but it sure comes back even if i clean it up

What it is? Is it bad? What can i do so it wont come back after cleaning tank

I have 157l tank corals and 1 fish at the moment

Looks like diatoms. How old is you tank?

Yep, normal part of the cycle. Actually a good sign. Should go away with time. I have a deep sandbed and do not siphon my live sand. Diatoms literally disappeared beginning around my live rock then eventually throughout my total sandbed.

I had a tragedy of all my fishes died and i did a reset of my tank again removed everything cleaned everything set it up again
Adding one by one per week
From water start up until now its about 2-3 mnths old with just my saved corals and a fish

By any chance did you use new live sand to set up?
Reason I ask is I've been fighting a very similar looking issue. At first I thought it to be Diatoms, pretty much the same color. But it covers my entire SB only and is thicker carpet like. Actually glues the sand particles together. My tank is 13wks old.

Nope same white sand but carefully rinse thoroughly and its not that sticky if you touch it it will go like dust on topshelves like

But what i notice it started making airbags inside the sand like this

And you can notice that its building up too on the surface
What should i do? Can i do something about it?

The little holes in your sand against the glass is a good sign. Shows good beneficial bacteria in your sandbed. I wouldn't siphon (that will kill the life in your sandbed) and give it time. Be patient and it will take care of itself. But don't overload your tank too quckly.

Then test water added lr
Test water added the 5x snails
Test water added fish
So on

I got this guys way back before i reset everything they told me it will clean the sand and eat some leftover feeds if it fell on the sand but dont see any such results in them

And im thinking of going all 120cm with overflow system but still thinking

Be sure you have proper flow, good skimming, adequate light cycle, weekly maintanence, and not over feeding

If you have that covered, give time time. It's actually cool watching it slowly disappear as your biological filtration kicks in.

Then you'll probably have a cyano outbreak and that's a different issue

All normal and natural.

All filtration is set for 157l tank water cycle comes from the filtration and its quite powerful the water really cycles
Lights are just a flourecent type lights that i turn of during the day and use full at night and turn the whites leave the blue light up until am and turn it off again cycle

Can i add them already or not? Got a GCA who is sad

Clowns are pretty hardy. Should be safe. Be sure ammonia and nitrites at 0 and nitrates in check. I would then wait a month to add anything else.

Now the brown colors turning purple/violet is it still good? Or am i having other problems rather than diatoms

Probably cyano. Vacuum it up. Normal part of a new system. Should hold off on adding any more corals. Take it slow. Get a good clean up crew.

With cyano be sure you have good powerhead and flow in the tank
