I’ll answer your question with a question... :)

If this goes wrong and the tank cracks are you OK with most of your 130g of water on your floor? :)

It isn’t a good idea. The extra stress of the water pressing out adds stress to what you’re doing. I’d add to that the likelihood of getting glass dust in the tank

+1 for this ... dont do iT !!

Drilling horizontal would be difficult & take a long time . Can you use an HOB overflow maybe ?

It has already been said, but I would not even consider it. The chance of success in this scenario is minimal at best I would say.

I know it’s a lot of water; but why not just drain the tank and drill that way? You can place all rock sand and livestock in buckets and totes, drill, plumb and refill. Less risk to busting the tank that way.

I have an eshopps pf-800 and it works great. Initially I had too little flow through the sump and got bubbles in the top of the U-Tube. But ever since I picked up my flow rate with a new return pump it’s caused me 0 problems. ;)

Iv used eshopps pf nano years ago.

Which flowrate would be best for pf800? I have eheim 3000lph pump. Distance from sump to tank height is 55 inches.

Empty the tank and drill it. The over the back overflow will eventually fail it’s just a matter of when and if your home at the time to catch it from flooding your floor. You could lower water to an inch or so in tank and then drill it put in bulk head and refill
